Stop searching, you have found the very best (and at the best price). We could not have wished for a better experience. Marco and Mary are absolutely amazing, their attention to detail in helping us went beyond expectations, and I know that Mom is in great hands. It is cliche, but I would give them 10 stars if I could. Thank you so much!

They were very professional and went above and beyond to do so. Very compassionate while also being professional and covering all basis. My dad bought an urn from them about 15 years ago. When I asked about bringing in an urn I already had they did state they don't use any urns but theirs. When I told them we bought it from them 15 years ago and they didn't question a thing. I highly recommend them to everyone.

I made the arrangements for a cremation long before it was needed for my mother who was in a long term care facility. I wanted to be clear headed when I made the arrangements per her wishes. The entire staff was very professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. I was pleased by the arrangements.

Garden State Cremation Society was recommended by our Church. No one ever taught any of us how to plan the funeral of any of our loved ones. From the first phone I call I made to the very last, they handled our family situation with such compassion. They really held my hand throughout the whole process. Not in any single moment did I feel like they pushed any product/service on me...

The personnel at Garden State Cremation Society are personable and extremely helpful in Preparation and final disposition of a loved one. They meticulously guide you through all the necessary requirements needed to arrive at a comfortable decision. The cost was very reasonable and affordable. This was my second time using Garden State Cremation Society for my deceased loved ones. I highly recommend.

Trust me this is exactly who you want in your corner. My mom passed and they handled everything with upmost class and caring!!!

  • How much does a cremation cost in Essex and Bergen County?

You can save even more money by opting for a direct cremation, which starts at $495 with Garden State Cremation Society. Again, price depends on the cremation provider that you work with. Fortunately, Garden State Cremation Society has a wide variety of options for cremation services. There’s something for every region and city, every religious faith and every budget.

  • What are the most commonly asked questions about cremation?

Based on our experience dealing with people, we’ve compiled and answered the most frequently asked questions about cremation. These questions cover a wide range of topics relating to the benefits of cremation, the process, and what to do with the ashes after.

15 Questions You Want to Ask About Cremation: Our Experts …

  • Can you have a funeral service before or after a cremation?

You can have a service before the cremation, but you also have the freedom to have a ceremony well after the cremation, with the ashes present. Some people like this idea, as they are not rushed into organizing an expensive service with a funeral director.

  • How long does it take for a cremation to take place?

The cremation is typically carried out on the same day as the funeral. If for some reason it can’t be that day, it is usually performed within 72 hours. Naturally, there may be some circumstances where the cremation is delayed. For instance, the body may have to be transported to another town, state, or country.

  • Is it necessary to be embalmed before cremation?

No. It is only necessary to embalm in some states if you decide to have a viewing of the body.

  • How can I be sure we receive my loved one’s ashes?

This is an important question to ask of your funeral director or cremation provider. Most will take the identification and tracking of the deceased very seriously and have strict written procedures in place (and they should be able to provide you a copy of this, if you’re interested in reviewing). Feel free to ask questions about the identification process and be sure that you are comfortable with the steps that will be taken to ID your loved one before, during and after the cremation.
